Schwarzenegger and Ammiano to discuss legalization bill on CNN

Okay, here's the TV event of the month: Assemblymember Tom Ammiano will be discussing his marijuana legalization bill with Gov. Schwarzenegger, live on CNN, tomorrow (Sat) at 2:30 pm. The segment will be rebroadcast later in the day.

Must-see TV.

Tim Redmond seems to be the only source so far and there's nothing on CNN's website about it at this point. Can anyone confirm this?

I agree Adam. They're just using these issues to co-opt support and votes, nothing more. They're not actually committed to reforming the laws in any meaningful way.

Take for instance Schwarzenegger's statement "...I think it's time for a debate." That statement is meaningless. If Arnold won't debate it, and he's not calling or directing congress to debate it, then WHO will debate it? If congress won't then this is all meaningless.

If he supported drug reform in any way, he could have simply come out and supported Ammanio's bill. But he isn't. Because he's just co-opting the issue. Because he's a stupid politician that the voters of California elected.

"Change" and "debate" are simply talking points for ($$$) air-time. Nothing will happen on the reform front until the people stop electing republicrats and wolves in sheep's clothing.

Okay some alarm bells should be going off, I don't think anything is going to get legalized. This is a lot of show and it is probably another distraction campaign. This is the response we get to all the "whining" the feds think we did over at change.gov for marijuana legalization.
They were probably just using that site to figure out the MOST effective televised series of diversions for their final endgame. In fact now we are seeing a lot of people we have been publicly supporting (and strongly) throughout the *real* fight for change, such as Mason Tvert, gaining access to the same government-controlled media outlets for their voices as before. It really does look like something has changed but it's also possible nothing has and the implications of that are pretty bad, considering this is the amount of attention something gets every time new steps are taken toward tyranny in the White House.
