Kentucky company to develop THC patch

Kentucky pharmaceutical maker AllTranz isn't quite done with their first product - a painkillling gel containing a propietary synthetic cannabinoid aimed at osteoathritis treatment. But they aren't resting on their laurels or slouching on their couches. They're busting ahead with another transcendent transdermal - a THC patch for potheads who are trying to cut down. They just got $2+ million from the gummint and almost that much from investors. YOU GUYS ARE WORKING TOO HARD. If you want your products to be taken seriously by serious potheads, you're going to have to start showing signs of using them. So take a pill, or a puff, or a patch, or a gel. Do whatever you gotta do, but I want to see some hardcore abulia by Saturday.

"More than half of the individuals addicted to marijuana experience significant withdrawal symptoms if they try to quit."

Heh. Let's assume that "individuals addicted to marijuana" reflects only a tiny percentage of total marijuana users. Then only half of those experience significant withdrawal symptoms (um... isn't that the definition of addiction? So the other half of those addicted aren't really addicted?). In short... confusing and empty verbiage.

"Nearly two-thirds of marijuana users experience pronounced withdrawal symptoms that can include anxiety, irritability, depression, mood swings, and sleep problems."

Fuck you! Leave me alone!

"More than half of the individuals addicted to marijuana experience significant withdrawal symptoms if they try to quit. The withdrawal symptoms contribute to the relapse and maintenance of marijuana use. Withdrawal symptoms are similar to those experienced by people who quit cigarettes, cocaine and other drugs. Nearly two-thirds of marijuana users experience pronounced withdrawal symptoms that can include anxiety, irritability, depression, mood swings, and sleep problems.

Marijuana contains more than 400 chemicals, including many of the harmful substances found in tobacco smoke. Smoking one marijuana cigarette deposits about four times more tar into the lungs than a filtered tobacco cigarette and Harvard University researchers report the risk of a heart attack is five times higher than usual in the hour after smoking marijuana."

Quoted from the press release. I guess that's what gets you government grants.

Also, do they need test subjects? I can't be responsible if I use all the patches in one day!
