Apparently this stuff is just port with cinchona bark and some aromatics to cover up the bitter taste of the cinchona. Cinchona bark does have some alkaloids in it - quinine is the only one I recognize - but somewhat to my surprise this doesn't seem to have morphine or cocaine or cannabis in it. All of which were common ingredients in these sorts of old tonics.
