Ontario judge declares criminalization of pot unconstitutional

Ontario is one step closer to the legalization of marijuana after the Ontario Superior Court struck down two key parts of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act that prohibit the possession and production of pot.

The court declared the rules that govern medical marijuana access and the prohibitions laid out in Sections 4 and 7 of the act "constitutionally invalid and of no force and effect" on Monday, effectively paving the way for legalization.

If the government does not respond within 90 days with a successful delay or re-regulation of marijuana, the drug will be legal to possess and produce in Ontario, where the decision is binding.

"This is when someone in the State Department or DEA freaks out and puts pressure on Canada to stop it."

Then they should Just Say No to the US.

Honesty, it's really annoying living in the US -- with it's controlling and anti-rational stance on just about everything, drugs first and foremost -- but I think it would be even more annoying to live in a county that kowtows to the US's insane demands all the time. I may have to live with an insane government, but it least it's my insane government. It would be truly annoying to have to be controlled by someone else's insane government, which makes it even more meta-insane than the US.

Counties of the world, unite! You have nothing to loose but your lack of balls. If you kowtow to us, you loose talking right on how bad we are.

Hopefully this will extend to commercial sales! If so I might have to change my vacation plans this summer....
