Group wants pot smoking in airport lounges

One pro-marijuana group is calling on the government to allow marijuana in smoking lounges at airports across the country.

Cigarette smoking at Denver International Airport and other airports across the country is restricted to smoking lounges.

Members of the Denver-based organization Safer Alternative for Enjoyable Recreation (SAFER) will ask the government Tuesday to allow pot in airport smoking lounges.

The group says in a press release that the idea will address the growing number of in-flight problems involving drunk and disorderly passengers. Members claim marijuana is a better alternative to alcohol to help more fliers relax and deal with the anxiety of air travel.

Amen brother.

Airports is a great start... Sadly, I'm allergic to Pot. But, I think this is the perfect solution to get people away form Alcohol in America. Hopefully, Pot will soon be legal nationwide. Alcohol is really getting out of control expecially with teens. How many teens die from Alcohol related incidences in a year? If they were just allowed to smoke pot those numbers would really decrease not only for teen but Everyone. Save America, Just Legalize Pot!

"This is great. I've always thought the most effective strategy for legalization is to focus on the hypocrisy of legalized tobacco and alcohol."

Many people do, which may explain one of the reasons that legalization has never gotten anywhere. I really don't see how people think that arguing for the prohibition of one substance is in any way related to arguing for the lifting of the prohibition of another substance.

Well, except for the fact, of course, that pointing out people's flaws to them is the BEST way of wining them over to your way of seeing things.

Man that's why you bring brownies when you fly. They are my travel solution - discreet and highly effective.

You lucky bastards, you have smoking lounges in airports! We sure don't, not unless there's secret ones once you get through customs (I haven't escaped from The Island / The Villiage for ages you see).

I remember when you were allowed to smoke ON THE PLANE! Those were the days; there's nothing better that artificial air conditioning needs than some tobacco smoke - and yer, ganj too.

I remember when you were allowed to smoke IN THE CINEMA! And in pubs and cafes - but that one only became illegal kinda recently.

And it could all happen again - you just have to wish everyone out of existence who stopped it in the first place. Like they're allowed to control anything. Know Your Galactic Citizens Rights, godammit. And if they insist on having control - hijack this long-haul flight we're on on Spaceship Earth. I do, everyday.

I can see an airport shop selling $200 grams. It'd be right on par with the price of everything else you pay for while waiting for your flight. Blunt wrap-$12.50, one-time-use lighter-$9. Need to use a pipe?-$30 rental fee. All to get you nice and baked so you can go spend $10 on a cheeseburger. I fucking hate airports.
